Generation I • Circa 1996

Kanto Unearthed is a six-piece textured ceramic coaster collection inspired by the original generation of Pokémon, reimagined as fossil specimens preserved in weathered stone.

Each coaster captures the look of an excavated slab: fractured rock, exposed skeletal details, and earthy tones, brought to life through dimensional UV printing. The bones and surrounding stone formations have textures you can both see and feel, making each piece its own miniature discovery.

Created as an independent fan tribute to Pokémon’s 30th anniversary in 2026, the collection looks back to the adventure that began in 1996—with a decidedly prehistoric twist.

Meet the Six Specimens

Each set includes six individual designs:

  • Pikachus fulguris — Long ears, a compact skeleton, and a distinctive lightning-shaped tail make this little specimen instantly familiar.

  • Bulbasaurus bulbifer — A broad skull and compact frame rest beneath a layered, fossilized bulb, bringing a botanical twist to the collection.

  • Charmandrus ignifer — A small reptilian skeleton with delicate claws and a sweeping curved tail, nestled into the surrounding rock.

  • Eeveeon variabilis — Oversized ears and a curled, bushy tail frame a gently folded skeleton, preserved in a natural-looking resting arrangement.

  • Mewtus secundus — An elongated skeleton, distinctive skull, and long, curved tail give this specimen an especially mysterious presence.

  • Squirtella aquatica — A rounded skull, exposed shell structure, and tightly curled tail reveal the imagined anatomy of a familiar aquatic creature.

Together, the six share a warm, weathered palette and fossil-slab aesthetic, while each has its own arrangement and dimensional details.

Whether they’re on the game table, beside your morning coffee, or displayed between uses, these specimens bring a little of Kanto’s imagined ancient history into the everyday.

About the Coasters

Each coaster is craft-made in our U.S. studio and UV printed directly onto ceramic, allowing us to create vibrant, highly detailed artwork with dimensional textures and finishes that can be seen and felt.

Because each coaster is craft-made in small batches, slight variations in color, texture, print height, positioning, or other small details may occur from piece to piece. These subtle differences are a normal part of the production process and make each finished set slightly unique.

A cork backing helps protect your table and keeps the coaster securely in place.

Unlike absorbent stone coasters, our ceramic coasters are designed to collect condensation on the surface rather than absorb it.

Will a cup sit flat on a textured coaster?
Yes. This is one of the questions we get most often. Our textured designs are created with normal use in mind, and cups, glasses, bottles, and mugs can sit comfortably on the finished coaster.

A note about newly printed coasters
Freshly UV-printed products may have a noticeable odor when first removed from their packaging. Depending on the amount and thickness of UV printing used in a particular design, this off-gassing smell may remain for several days. This is normal and will dissipate with time and exposure to open air.
